Recipe №07 · From the Chickada Kitchen

The Chickada House Scrub

serves: one of you · time: 2 hours · difficulty: a beginner
a handful organic cane sugar
a generous pour of organic coconut oil
a spoonful cupuaçu butter, soft
a memory of vanilla
whatever scent feels like you
one good drink
four friends — optional, recommended
Smell the menu. Take your time. Notice which scent makes you stop and breathe in deeper.
Combine the sugar, coconut oil, and cupuaçu butter at your station. Stir until soft enough to scoop with a spoon.
Add your scent — a little at first, then more if your heart says so. There is no wrong amount.
Spoon the scrub into a jar. Label it with your name. Take it home and use it on a Sunday morning.

a note from the kitchen

The recipe nobody wrote down

In late 2025 our founder, Claire, found a Pinterest post about making homemade sugar scrubs. She tried it once, alone in her kitchen — then she did the very Claire thing of inviting four friends over to try it again on a Saturday.

They opened a bottle of wine. They spread the ingredients across her coffee table. They made a mess and they made jars. At some point, one friend held hers up, smelled it, and said, very quietly, "this reminds me of home."

Nobody had planned for it to go that deep. But that's what happens when you slow down, put something real in your hands, and sit with people you love. It's an old recipe — older than any of us.

Chickada's workshops exist because of that night. We didn't invent the formula and we won't pretend we did. We just set the table, pour the drinks, and let you make the thing.
