Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping with Chickada LLC ("Chickada," "we," "us," or "our"). We want to make sure your handmade sugar scrubs arrive safely and on time. Please review our shipping policy below for details on processing times, shipping methods, rates, and delivery expectations.


Order Processing Time

All orders are processed within 2–3 business days after payment is confirmed. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.

During peak seasons, holidays, or promotional events, processing times may be slightly longer. If there is a significant delay with your order, we will contact you by email.

Orders are not processed or shipped on weekends or federal holidays.


Shipping Rates

  • Orders of $40 or more: Free standard shipping within the United States.
  • Orders under $40: Flat rate shipping, packaging, and handling fee of $7.99.

Shipping rates apply to standard shipping within the United States. Expedited shipping options, if available, will be calculated at checkout.


Shipping Carriers and Delivery Timeframes

We ship via USPS and UPS. The carrier used for your order may vary based on package size, weight, and destination.

Estimated delivery timeframes after your order has been processed and shipped:

  • Standard Shipping (USPS/UPS): 3–7 business days, depending on your location.
  • P.O. Boxes and APO/FPO/DPO Addresses: We do ship to P.O. Boxes and military addresses via USPS. Please note that delivery to these addresses may take longer than standard delivery timeframes, and tracking availability may be limited.

Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates provided by the carriers and are not guaranteed by Chickada. Delays may occur due to carrier issues, weather, holidays, or other circumstances beyond our control.


Order Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can use this tracking number to monitor the status of your delivery through the carrier's website.

If you do not receive a shipping confirmation within 5 business days of placing your order, please contact us at info@chickada.com.


Shipping Insurance

All orders are shipped with shipping insurance at no additional cost to you. If your package is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will file a claim with the carrier on your behalf. Please refer to our Return and Refund Policy for details on how to report damaged or defective items.


Local Pickup

We offer free local pickup for customers in the Greensboro, North Carolina area. If you would like to pick up your order, select the local pickup option at checkout. You will receive an email notification when your order is ready for pickup, along with pickup location details and instructions.

Please pick up your order within 7 days of receiving your ready-for-pickup notification. Orders not picked up within this timeframe may be cancelled and refunded at our discretion.


Subscription and Auto-Ship Orders

Subscription and auto-ship orders are processed and shipped on the same terms as standard orders. You will receive a reminder email before each scheduled shipment. Shipping is calculated the same way as a regular order — free for orders of $40 or more, or $7.99 flat rate for orders under $40.

Extreme Weather and Product Care During Shipping

Our sugar scrubs are handmade with natural ingredients that may be sensitive to extreme temperatures, particularly heat. During warmer months or in hot climates, your product may arrive softened or partially melted during transit. This is normal and does not affect the quality or safety of the product. The scrub will naturally resettle and recombine as it returns to room temperature.

If you are concerned about heat exposure, we recommend the following:

  • Consider choosing expedited shipping during summer months to reduce transit time.
  • Bring your package inside promptly after delivery.
  • Allow the product to return to room temperature before use if it appears to have softened.

If your product arrives in a condition that you believe is beyond normal heat-related settling — for example, if the container has leaked or is visibly damaged — please contact us with photos and we will resolve the issue per our Return and Refund Policy.


Address Accuracy

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information at the time of checkout, including your name, street address, apartment or suite number, city, state, and zip code.

Chickada is not responsible for orders that are delayed, lost, or returned due to incorrect or incomplete shipping information provided by the customer. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, we will contact you to arrange reshipment. Additional shipping charges may apply for reshipment.


Lost or Stolen Packages

Once a package shows a "delivered" status from the carrier, Chickada is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen. We recommend using a secure delivery location or requesting that your carrier hold your package for pickup if theft is a concern in your area.

If your tracking shows "delivered" but you have not received your package, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Check around your delivery area, including porches, garages, and with neighbors.
  2. Wait 24–48 hours, as carriers sometimes mark packages as delivered before the final delivery.
  3. Contact the carrier directly with your tracking number to open an investigation.
  4. If you are still unable to locate your package, contact us at info@chickada.com and we will work with you and the carrier to resolve the issue.

Third-Party Marketplace Orders

Orders placed through third-party marketplaces such as Etsy, Amazon Handmade, or Facebook/Meta Shops are subject to the shipping terms and policies of that platform. While we strive to maintain consistent processing and shipping standards across all channels, delivery timeframes and shipping options may vary depending on the marketplace. Please refer to the specific marketplace for shipping details on those orders.


Holiday and Peak Season Shipping

During holiday seasons and promotional events, both our processing times and carrier delivery times may be longer than usual. We will do our best to communicate any expected delays on our website and through order confirmation emails. We encourage you to place orders early during the holiday season to ensure timely delivery.
